For my lesson i practiced a design for the Elizabethan hair, and the design i want to do is more contemporary version of that hairstyle, as i want to show what it would look like today. I have used some the techniques that i have learnt how to do and incorporated that as what they would have done in that era.
First i did crimp the hair and backcomb, so it was easy to handle and to make the hairstyle that i wanted.
The hair looks slightly like bridal hair, which is modern, but the curls i wanted to look more like the Elizabethan, but more wavy, and less tight curls.
At the back i put the hair up, by curling the hair, then doing pin curls secured by pins, which makes it looks like bridal hair, but the curls are looser than Elizabethan hair.
By securing the front i used pins again, but it was curled over like that by a ratt, where i backcombed the hair, so that it rolled over like that.
Overall i think that it went well as a practice and showed different styles, that i could use in my design. I think the front part needs work to get slightly neater, and the curls i need to practice more.
